New Generation Ballistic Missile Agni-Prime successfully Flight-tested by SFC & DRDO

The Strategic Forces Command (SFC), along with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), orchestrated the triumphant flight-testing of the cutting-edge New Generation Ballistic Missile Agni-Prime. This landmark event unfolded with precision from the picturesque setting of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island, nestled off the resplendent coast of Odisha, as the clock neared 1900 hrs on the auspicious day of April 03, 2024.

This intricately planned trial seamlessly achieved all predetermined objectives, thereby unequivocally validating the unwavering reliability and stellar performance of the Agni-Prime. The precise execution of the test was corroborated by an array of sophisticated range sensors meticulously positioned across various vantage points. Notably, the efficacy of the missile’s trajectory was scrutinized with precision by the astute placement of two downrange ships stationed strategically at the terminal juncture.

A distinguished assemblage of high-ranking officials, including the Chief of Defence Staff and Chief of Strategic Forces Command, alongside senior luminaries from DRDO and the Indian Army, bore witness to this momentous milestone as it unfolded in real-time.

In a resounding gesture of acclaim and appreciation, Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh extended heartfelt felicitations to the eminent stalwarts at DRDO, SFC, and the indomitable Armed Forces for orchestrating this resounding success. He articulated his profound belief that the successful fruition of the missile’s development and subsequent induction will undeniably serve as a formidable force multiplier, augmenting the operational capabilities of the Armed Forces manifold.

Furthermore, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and Secretary, Department of Defence R&D, and Chairman DRDO, Dr Samir V Kamat, lauded the indefatigable efforts of SFC and DRDO in ensuring the flawless execution of this pivotal flight test, thus ushering in a new era of technological prowess and national security resilience.
