AW189 Achieves EASA Certification
AW189 Achieves EASA Certification. AgustaWestland’s new generation AW189 medium twin engine helicopter has been issued with type certification by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) on 7th February 2014. After successfully completing the Type Board Meeting last September, EASA completed the final validation activities of the first fully representative production aircraft. Delivery of the first two AW189s in offshore configuration to Bristow Group is imminent.

Indian Army saves life of a pregnant woman in J&K... This picture was taken during heavy snowfall in J&K. More there 60cm of snow fall in single night that blocked all roads in J&K…There comes our brave Jawan to save a pregnant woman in extreme conditions. Yasmeen Beguam wife of Parvez Ahmed Naiku of village Walkul, in remote Lolab Valley, in North Kupwara district will never forget the nightmare which almost brought her and yet to be born child’s life to peril. With fresh snow rendering interior roads, un-trafficable and no vehicles plying, had it not been for the troops of 28 Rashitriya Rifles, she would have lost her and the would be baby’s life. During the day, the lady developed extreme labour pain.. In this conditions the ward member of the village contacted the Army post for assistance. The troops immediately swung into action. Quick Reaction Medical team was moblised, snow clearing activity undertaken and Yaseen Begum with two ASHA activist were successfully evacuated to Bock Hospital Sogam. This saved the life of the mother and the baby.
Eurocopter’s EC175 sets new climb records
Eurocopter’s EC175 which opens new standards for the medium-sized twin-engine helicopter market. The two records for the EC175 are: time-to-climb to an altitude of 6,000 meters, performed in 6 minutes, 54 seconds; and time-to-climb to 3,000 meters, achieved in 3 minutes 10 seconds.

Multi Activity Display at OTA Gaya. As a prelude to the Passing Out Parade on 14 Dec 13, a Multi Activity Display showcasing various aspects of military training imparted to the Gentlemen Cadets, coupled with interesting and awe inspiring acts of combat skills and adventure, was staged in the Rajyavardhan Stadium of Officers Training Academy, Gaya. A key aim of training at the Academy is to inculcate a sense of adventure, in addition to developing physical fitness. The display showcased the skills that the Gentlemen Cadets learnt during the course of their training.

Eurocopter demonstrates EC225 helicopter’s capabilities for the offshore oil and gas industry
Eurocopter Canada Ltd. is showcasing the EC225 helicopter in St. John’s this week to demonstrate the rotorcraft’s features and capabilities for the offshore oil and gas community in Canada’s Newfoundland and Labrador province. The helicopter is in St. John’s for three days to highlight its ideal suitability for use as a crew transport aircraft, and in search and rescue missions for offshore operations. Flight opportunities will be provided for more than 30 representatives of the oil and gas sector, along with members of key industry associations. The EC225 is the latest evolution of the company’s Super Puma rotorcraft family and benefits from the experience accumulated by almost 1,000 aircraft of this family delivered to some 100 operators. The EC225 came to Canada (Iqaluit) for extreme cold weather testing in winter 2004 and 2007.
