MKU, a leading manufacturer of ballistic protection solutions for personnel and platforms has introduced the new 6th Generation ballistic protection technology Ammoflex – 6 and Polyshield – 6  that help to reduce the weight and thickness of personal body armour by 40%. This reduction not only increases the agility and speed of the soldiers but also greatly reduces stress and enhances endurance.

A personal ballistic vest manufactured using 6th generation Ammoflex 6 technology which conforms to the stringent norms as per NIJ 0101.06 Level II weighs 1.5 Kg, and Level 3 of VPAM BSW 2006 weighs only 1.3 kg. An armour insert for Rifle protection made using 6th generation Polyshield 6 technology weighs less than 850g.

These 6th Generation protection solutions will be showcased at the upcoming exhibitions – SMM in Hamburg, Germany (9-12 Sep), GPEC in Germany (9-11 Sep) and ADEX in Azerbaijan (11-13 Sep).

MKU has always been at the forefront of technology and has been striving to develop newer, lighter and more flexible ballistic protection solutions for the modern solder. The technical team working at MKU in Germany and India has developed Ammoflex-6 and Polyshield-6 technologies after rigorous R&D and trials. These solutions are 40% lighter and thinner and much more flexible than standard solutions. According to Mr. Neeraj Gupta, Managing Director, “this reduction in weight and bulk will be a boon to the soldier as he would be better equipped to carry additional ammunition, batteries, rations or mission critical gear without increasing burden or related stress.”

Body armour made using Ammoflex-6 and Polyshield-6 offers excellent multi-hit protection at lowest possible weights. These conform to the stringent NIJ 0101.06 and VPAM standards and provide the soldier with unrestricted movement, flexibility and comfort.

Such solutions are ideal for Special Forces which need to carry out quick and fast missions in unforeseen and often difficult scenarios.
