  1. Eastern Theatre was always neglected in terms of Organic and Inorganic firepower assets. This is one theatre which can threaten Lhasa and other theatre objectives and Chinese can suffer serious attrition in case of ingress misadventures. With this perspective, serious upgrades of infrastructure, war fighting capabilities & counter theatre capabilities.
Secondly CAP, PM forces like AR, ITBP, SFF, SSB etc. should be under subordinated to IA or at least have a unified command including IAF. Substantial increase in air defence assets of IA, IAF in SR, MR, LR and long distance radars which have deep AESA capabilities that will help map and squeeze PLAAF into smaller corridors of operations.
Once done you have made Eastern front secure. One shudders to think that no central theatre operations have been planed to counter PLA/AF and tie them down. While they have massive capabilities to mass forces against two theatres, small easy ingress areas into Tibet will tie them down, spread there resources, and give more room to manoeuvre for India. In Short offensive posturing with multiple fronts from Leh, HP, UK, WB, AP will alter leveraging ratios. Its sad to see that a strike corp that was being raised to scale this posturing has been scuttled. What is the MOD thinking. Its not managing Goa or Kerala (apologize in advance) its countering two arch enemies of India. Which brings up the FORTAN -A &N islands, that should be the 3rd real theatre or front to tie our PLA/N/AF down and ease pressures on Eastern command. A neglected command but extremely potent. May I also say that organic critical formations such 2nd, 5th, 21st, 54 Divs and 33rd Corps need to be increased in capability to execute counter strike capabilities. Defence in depth and FEBA concepts developed by NATO during 1980s to counter Soviet forces, hastened winding down of the theatre and the wall. India should create concepts like Able Archer instead of asset destroying brass track etc.
    Enough Said.
