Being a mounted regiment, sawars of the PBG have perfected the art of horse riding. They are outstanding trick riders and polo players. Brigadier (Retd) V P Singh and Colonel (Retd) HS Sodhi of the Regiment were awarded the Arjuna Award for excellence in Polo and Equestrian sports. Ex-Risaldar Major and Honorary Captain Milkha Singh won a Gold Medal for India in the 1982 Asian Games. Nb Ris Sajjan Kumar broke the 32-year old National Record of Open Jumping Puissance in 2004 by clearing a height of 195 cms. His record still stands and is listed in the Limca Book of Records.

DISBAND THE 61ST CAVALRY FROM PRESIDENT ESTATE AND TRANSFER THE HORSES AND OFFICERS TO TRAINING ACADEMIES WITH TENURES OF KARGILL AND SAICHEN THROWN IN FOR MAINTAINING FIGHTING FITNESS .
What a farce to have horsemen guarding the President of India. Also, what a waste of public money.
To permit such people to allow the ‘Right of the line’ position during ceremonial positions is criminal. Let us stop this drama as soon as possible.
