Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal NAK Browne reviewing the Guard of Honour at the NCC Republic Day Parade Camp 2013 at Delhi Cantt on 12 Jan 2013. Complimenting the Cadets on their performance Air Chief Marshal NAK Browne, Chief of the Air Staff and Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee said, “Thank you all for giving me the opportunity for being here, I feel very honoured here. I feel very young again to see you all, the josh that is written across your face and the spirit in which you have taken on this task. He further said, “I am extremely grateful to your parents who have sent you to this camp and made you a part of this nation building. The cadets who are here have been specially selected to attend the camp, I only wish that if each one of you would join the armed forces, which I am sure many of you will do, I think the services would be better enriched by your experience and by your background”. He also lauded the contribution of NCC fraternity including its alumni for their vital and dynamic role towards Nation Building, Disaster Management, and Conserving the Environment. When asked for his message to the youth who wants to join the armed forces he said. “My message to those who want to join the Armed Forces is that when you do so you would be treated honourably, you would be taken care of and we will make sure that everything is available to you in meeting your operational tasks.

  2. The Bastille Day Parade is the inspiration for our Republic Day Parade. The Arc de Triomphe is very important to the Bastille Day Parade, as I did notice, when The Maratha Light Infantry did march with the French Army. It might be, that a French Army contingent, might march in Belgaum, at least for their Indian counterparts. It would perhaps be a happening which would happen, every year, on India’s Republic Day.
