VK Shashikumar spoke with Malaiz Daud, Chief of Staff (Transition Coordination Commission, Afghanistan, 2011) and Amin Shafiee, Chief of Staff (Transition Coordination Commission, Afghanistan, 2011 – 2012)
Both Malaiz Daud and Amin Shafiee worked very closely with disgraced Afghan President Ashraf Ghani when he was the chairman of the Transition Coordination Commission, who was toppled by the Taliban in August 2021. Ghani fled from the Presidential Palace in Kabul. Canary Trap published exclusive accounts of how Ashraf Ghani’s government collapsed. The sequence of events revaled by CT was subsequently picked by other media outlets. From 2010-to October 1, 2013 – Ghani was the Chairman of the Transition Coordination Commission (TCC), the group responsible for the transition of power from International Security Assistance Forces (ISAF) and NATO to Afghan National Security Forces.
According to Malaiz and Amin it was very evident in 2011 that Ashraf Ghani was a pawn in the game to eventually hand over Afghanistan to Taliban. Malaiz says “Afghanistan was already a sinking ship in 2011” and Ghani took the next 10 years to weaken Afghanistan and hand it over on a platter to Taliban. Amin says that during his tenure it was clear that Pakistan had already penetrated the Transition Commission and sowed the seeds for the eventual Taliban takeover 10 years later.
Malaiz says that Karzai who was pro-Taliban fixed the elections to ensure Ashraf Ghani won.
