Game Plan for Return of Musharraf
There is a clear link between Musharraf’s announcements to fight elections in 2012 and lead his party, propping up of Imran Khan, and Pakistan Army and the ISI. In a pre-planned move Musharraf has been garnering international support to return as President of Pakistan. He intends to win the Pakistani elections with the support of Pakistan Army.
The crowds at Imran Khan rallies are organized by ISI and Pak Army. Imran Khan is possibly made to win next elections with the support of Pakistan Army and the ISI and become the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
This strategy is now unfolding in Pakistan shows that Musharraf, Kayani, Imran Khan and the Pakistan Army along with the jihadi factory forces are on the same page. Even the ‘Memogate Scandal’ by which Ambassador Haqqani was recalled from Washington clearly appears to be a plant by the ISI under the tutelage of General Kayani. The Pak Army Chief in view of lack of American support has managed to convince Beijing in his recent visit to support the Pakistan Army in its unfolding strategy.
A clear possibility exists of a ‘Soft Coup’, where President Zardari and Company resign and are forced to call for new elections, or the ‘Hard Coup’, where Pak Army physically takes over the country under Martial Law.
Pakistan Prime Minister Gilani’s government threat to arrest Musharraf on his arrival will not be permitted by the Pak Army.
The end game shortly will see in all likelihood a change of government, more to the liking of the Pak Army.

He enjoys the backing of the Governments of USA, Russia, EU nations, Saudi Arabia, Israel and even China and India. GOI is supporting him, despite his Kargil misdemeanors, on account of USA pressure. USA needs Musharraf to help it deal with Iran. Iran is unfortunately, USA's principal adversary at present. The reasons for such strong American anmosity towards Iran is best known to USA. As Pakistan has a border with Iran, any prospective invasion of Iran can be contemplated from Pakistani soil. There has always been a degree of distrust between the Sunni and Shia Muslim militants (not moderates). So, USA's agenda against Iran can be facilitated and some face saving compromise vis-a-vis the jihadis negotiated.
